Governmental Law

Doyen Sebesta attorneys are actively involved in various aspects of governmental law.  In representing governmental entities, we recognize that we frequently work on behalf of elected officials.  Our attorneys are well attuned to the political realities faced by our governmental clients.  Because we understand these realities, our attorneys are able to assist our governmental decision makers in achieving the clients’ purposes or defending its actions in an efficient and successful manner.

At Doyen Sebesta, we are actively involved in education law.  We maintain close affiliations with active and retired superintendents, administrators, and classroom teachers who provide us with expert assistance in serving our school district clients.  Our attorneys are well versed in all aspects of implementation of and compliance with the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, the Texas Education Code, and other pertinent statutory provisions.

Our attorneys are also experienced municipal attorneys, having represented home-rule and general law municipalities on issues ranging from the drafting of ordinances to complex litigation.  At Doyen Sebesta, our attorneys have served as appointed city attorneys, as well as retained advisors and consultants.

Working on behalf of school districts, cities, economic development corporations, special districts, and housing authorities, the attorneys in our firm have experience conducting internal investigations, handling EEOC investigations, drafting personnel policies, drafting ordinances, and designing and drafting zoning laws.

Doyen Sebesta’s commitment to excellence and a personal relationship with each client provide our governmental clients a distinct advantage when their ordinances are challenged in court, as well as when they are sued in personal injury or commercial litigation, or when they simply need general advice and counsel in an effective and efficient manner.
